International fashion tradeshow Pitti Immagine has announced that Jonathan Anderson with his eponymous label J.W. Anderson will be the menswear guest designer for its 92nd edition of Pitti Uomo to be held in Florence from June 13th to the 16th, 2017.

Thirty-two year old Jonathan Anderson was born in Northern Ireland and launched J.W. Anderson in 2008. After he showed the first collection of accessories that achieved great critical and commercial success, J.W. Anderson quickly became known as one of London's most innovative labels. The first capsule collection for women came in 2010. Ever since then, the brand has shown at London Fashion Week reaping extraordinary successes among the press and buyers all over the world.

J.W .Anderson has also become internationally recognized thanks to a series of prestigious awards: from the British Fashion Awards "Emerging Talent Award – Ready-to-Wear  (2012), to "The New Establishment Award" (2013) to "Menswear Designer of the Year" (2014). In 2013 the LVMH Fashion Group acquired a stake in J.W. Anderson, supporting the brand's growth. Soon after, Mr. Anderson was appointed Creative Director of Loewe (the Madrid-based LVMH luxury brand) where he immediately began reinventing the firm's codes.

The appointment will be on June 14, 2017, the data when  J.W. Anderson will make its Italian debut showing his men's collection Spring/Summer 2018 with a special event with the support of Pitti Immagine.

Pitti Dance Off coming soon!

Men’s fashion weeks are almost upon us once again, and as fashion’s finest prepare their jaunts to the world’s fashion capitals, Pitti Immagine has announced details surrounding Pitti Uomo’s 91st season.

Pitti Uomo 91 takes place January 10-13, 2017, and is titled “Pitti Dance Off.” The winter fair will portray the parallels between dance and fashion—two diverse forms of expression—and encourage freedom of personal styles. Reinterpreting and adding their own ironic twist, Pitti will reference the heritage of street dance and dance contests. Street dance being inextricably linked to streetwear, the theme indicates the growing acceptance of a once sneered upon fashion culture.

Once again, Pitti Immagine has worked with artists on a digital project accompanying the event. Director and photographer Dennison Bertram, creative consultant Gloria Maria Cappelletti, producer Morena Russo and choreographer Nicolò Besozzi worked together with the fair’s team to make “Pitti Dance Off”, a multimedia experience.

This season Fortezza de Basso will house 1,220 brands and collections, including 210 new names and big international brands such as Z Zegna, Tommy Hilfiger and Paul Smith. The creative partnership between Pitti Immagine and MINI continues bringing a series of projects focusing on new fashion talents, lifestyle trends and cultures.

New for 2017, “HI Beauty” is an area dedicated to fragrances, body care and grooming products, and cosmetic research specialists. While “MAKE” is a section showcasing artisanal products and their makers — a new generation of craftspeople from around the world that are dedicated to traditional production but in step with contemporary ideas.
