Boy kicks by the sea - 'Beira-Mar' Premiere in Mexico/ FICG 30

Story & coverage photos by Ivan Guerrero
Left to right: Mateus Almada, Maurício José Barcellos, Directors Marcio Reolon & Filipe Matzembacher at the premiere of ‘Beira-Mar’(Seashore), film included in the Maguey Award selection from the FICG 30 (Guadalajara International Film Festival) in Mexico.

‘Beira-Mar’ (Seashore) is the long feature film debut of Brazilian directors Marcio Reolon and Filipe Matzembacher that has recently premiered  at the Forum section of Berlinale 65.
The coming-out story of two friends, Tomaz and Martin and the tensions that result from them their conversations and encounters, openly respond to a “very intimate work/film” as director Marcio Reolon mentioned at the Mexican screening in competition for the Maguey Award- Premio Maguey; the LGBT section/feature contestant selection of the FICG Guadalajara International Film Festival.
With the presentation of a not-so-completely clarified context of both of the young protagonists and with a relatively slow pace and naturally expressed situations and encounters, 'Beira-Mar' deals with the experiences and feelings of young men linked to the process of growing up which is usually affected by many factors such as misconceptions and prejudgements, that somehow shape our actions and relationships in order to finally dive into a new life as we enter the ocean of adulthood.

Debut! New York Men's Fashion Week coming in 2015

A shot from my previous coverage at Mexican designer Ricardo Seco's show held in NYC.

After a lot of buzz and discussion, New York City is getting its own Men's Fashion Week next summer!
However, sponsors are still needed to make this event possible, so organizers are yet to confirm the companies who will be interested in backing this new initiative.
Interesting news that arrive a few months later since some men's fashion designers (eg: Michael Bastian and 3.1 Phillip Lim) ceased their participation in the traditional fashion week season schedule held in September.
The first ever New York Men's Fashion Week is scheduled for July 20-22, 2015 ( dates still subject to change though) and looking forward to seeing you backstage over there! (however, sponsors are still needed!)

'Men's Street' by Pitti Immagine in Milan

Via Gesù in Milan.

On the recent opening of the program of events and activities of the 87th edition of Florentine tradeshow Pitti Uomo has presented it's new project 'La Via dell'Uomo' ("Men's Street"), an initiative intended to reinforce its Italian roots and promote Milan's stylish street Via Gesù that connects to Via Montenapoleone and Via Spiga, as the ultimate hub for men's fashion.
Via Gesù has been very famous for hosting a variety of luxury men's brands such as Brioni, Caruso, Stefano Ricci, Luciano Barbera and Acqua di Parma, just to mention a few.
A growing bond between Florence and Milan, 'La Via dell'Uomo' will present its first event on January 17th, 2015 in coincidence with the first day of Men's Fashion Week.
In addition, Pitti Immagine will also support the 'Revelations-Finance for Fine Arts' special program backed by Milan's Pinacoteca di Brera and the Italian Bourse. The restoration of Carlo Dolci's oil painting 'David with the Head of Goliath' will be financed by Pitti and will be featured in a special monographic exhibition dedicated to Dolci set to run at Pitti Palace in Florence from June to October 2015.
